Akshaya Mukul is an independent researcher. Author of Gita Press and the Making of Hindu India, his biography of iconic Hindi writer Agyeya has been out in 2022. An alumni of Delhi University, he has been a journalist for 24 years and worked at The Times of India, Hindustan Times, The Pioneer and the Asian Age. He has written extensively on Indian politics, education and culture. He taught journalism for a year in Lady Shriram College. He is a recipient of Homi Bhabha, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund and New India Foundation fellowships.

He is the recipient of the Raza Fellowship (2016) for his book on the biography of Agyeya, published as ‘Agyeya’ by Penguins 2022.
