Born on November 29, 1954, Bharat Yayavar has also been a professor of Hindi at Vinoba Bhave University. His many poetry collections including Ek Paribesh (1979), Jhelte Hute (1980), Main Hoon, Yahan Hoon (1983), Restlessness (1990) and Haal-Behal (2004) are poetry collections. Yayavar has also edited Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi's Rachnavali. He retrieved and edited 8 lost and rare books of Phanishwar Nath Renu.

He was the recipient of the Raza Fellowship (2017) for his book on the biography of Phanishwarnath Renu, an influential writer of modern Hindi literature.
