Born 1977 in Mumbai, Geet Chaturvedi is widely read in as an'avant-garde' (always leading in his genre) writer. He has eleven books published, including two story-collections and three poetry-collections. 'Minimum Main' and 'Khushiyon Ke Guptchar' made it to the Hindi bestseller lists. His collections of essays on literature, cinema and music are 'Table Lamp' and 'The God of Incomplete Things'. He is also active as a lyricist, screenwriter, critic and columnist.
Geet has received Bharat Bhushan Agarwal Award, Spandan Kriti Samman, Vagdhara Navratna Samman for poetry and Krishna Pratap Katha Samman, Shailesh Matiani Katha Samman, Krishna Baldev Vaid Fellowship.
Geet Chaturvedi's works have been translated into 22 languages of the country and the world. The collection of English translations of his poems 'The Memory of Now' was published in America in 2019. The English translation of his novella 'Simsim' (translated by Anita Gopalan) has been awarded the internationally prestigious 'Pen-Heim Translation Grant' by 'Pen America'.
He is the recipient of the Raza Fellowship (2019) for his novel ‘Simsim’.
