Kankana, the daughter of Sri Kunjo Singh and Smt. Mira Singh has been brought up in an environment of dance and music and it has been a privilege for her to belong to the traditional family of Manipuri Dance. She also happens to be the granddaughter of Guru Bipin Singh and Guru Kalavati Devi.

She has been learning Manipuri dance since the tender age of 4 years from her parents. Currently, she is one of the senior students of Manipuri Nartanalaya, one of the pioneer institutes of Manipuri Dance in India. She is undergoing advanced training in Manipuri dance from Guru Kalavati Devi and Smt. Bimbavati Devi, the daughter of the legendary couple.

She has performed in many prestigious festivals in India and abroad as a soloist, and moreover, has been part of duet and group performances with Manipuri Nartanalaya. Some of the festivals include Nalanda Nrityotsav (2019), Uday Shankar Nrityotsav (2019), Aarambh and Yuva Shastriya by Raza Foundation, Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav, Puthur Music Festival, Trinetra Dance Festival, Khajuraho Dance Festival, Naatyanjali, organized by Uttara Centre for Performing Arts and Mukuram organized by Lasyakalpa Foundation and Telengana Govt. in Hyderabad (2019), Nakshatra Festival in NCPA (2018) and many others.

Her foreign programs have been at Germany, Fiji Islands and Bangladesh.
