Born on 1st Nov. 1990, Indore; Pratik Koundinye completed his B. F.A (2014) and M.F.A (2018) in Painting from the Government Institute of Fine Arts, Indore.
Pratik Koundinye is an experimental painter who believes that people in today’s day and age have reached a point of saturation. A point where even happiness is fleeting because of the rigid constructs we live in, however; one chooses to momentarily bask in a superficial state of happiness as it grants temporary satisfaction until it is fully experienced later on at any given point of time mindfully and in a wholistic manner.
His creations are an amalgamation of emotions that reflects the feelings and thoughts, which came from his personal experiences and also correlate with others. What he meticulously studies and strives for through his work is finding acceptance in life and an understanding and balance towards our ecology. There are hints and motions of fatigue, discomfort, yet there are these gestural signs of happiness in the small acts. Thus, his canvas aesthetically elucidates the rigmarole of everyday living.
In 2021 Pratik attended Art Session, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and has participated in exhibitions like Incredible Madhya Pradesh (2020), ArtistTogether4Hope, Swasti Art Gallery (2020), Bombay Art Society, Jahangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2018), Safar, Canarys Art Gallery (2017), Contraste, Alliance Francaise Bhopal (2015).
He is currently teaching painting at an Institute and doing his studio practice in Indore.
