myself Rajdeep Das, born in Assam in 1987, I am a visual artist, I have done my bachelor and masters from Visva Bharati Santiniketan Kala bhavana, I have done Senior Scholar in Chinese painting and Calligraphy from International College of Art China Academy, Now I am currently pursuing Ph.D. at Assam University.

I am also working as a freelance artist based in Assam, and I have participated many exhibition's, workshops and residency programs like, A group exhibition All India art exhibition Camlin art Foundation in Academy of Fine Art, Kolkata in 2014, group exhibition in Pune Biennale in 2017, National workshop in Sriniketan Visva Bharati University, selected for Piramal art residency program, and participate exhibition in Emami Art in 2021. The very beginning I started from an academic attitude, and hence the canvas could find its subjects on its basis. All the fragments of life are put together and reflected. One may trace a free association of it as it was the beginning as it is not the outcome of a specific personal space or any concentrated area. Through the help of time, the language of art was now. motivated into such that both medium and the subject became prior and an experience now coming under the same background these exercises combined with the free-flowing daily life of the peoples in small scale industries. I have been working on small scale industry for many years, like Amar Kutir Society. My working methodology is based on research and documentation where I have extensively documented the tradition, the processes, and the techniques also, the people involved. During my documentation found that the products were given more importance than the people involved. Thus, in my works. I have incorporated this material, technique, and designs in a new narrative to highlight and symbolize the people involved. I have tried to take a different approach to the idea of crafts were through the works have tried to show how crafts which are usually designated below fine arts is important in its own way. Through my works, I have also ened to draw a relationship between the past and the present, the tradition and the modern
