Sonam Chaturvedi (b. 1991) is an intermedia art practitioner living in New Delhi and teaching as an assistant lecturer at O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat. She did her BFA from Faculty of Fine Arts (sculpture) – M.S. University, Baroda (2014) and MFA from Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida (2016). She has initiated collaborative art projects like first draft and –out-of-line– (both ongoing), received the FICA Public Art Grant for –out-of-line– and Five Million Incidents grant for KAIROI; she was Artreach India’s third teaching fellow in 2017.
She has participated in exhibitions like 'Five Million Incidents' at Max Mueller Bhavan co-curated by RAQS Media Collective (2019-'20); 'Critical Constellations' by FICA under the Reading Room project- 'Listening post' by Vasudha Thozhur at IGNCA (2019); 'Real Time Tactics' curated by Mila Samdub, within 'The earth is still going around the sun : CISA 2019 Exhibitions' by Khoj International Artists’ Association at India International Centre (2019); 'apple in dream mode' curated by John Xaviers at Mumbai Art Room (2018) and 'Imagined Futures Reconstructed Pasts' curated by Meera Menezes at Bikaner House (2016) among others and was an artist-in-residence at What About Art? (Mumbai, 2017), Utsha Foundation for Contemporary Art (Bhubaneswar, 2017), O.P. Jindal Global University (Sonipat, 2018) and Kammari Residency (Treis Elies, Cyprus, 2018). Her writings have been published at BMJ Global, Hakara: Bi-lingual Journal, Art Dose Zine and others. She is also the founding member of the NGO- Jeevan Stambh Foundation started during the pandemic in 2020, and Artreach India’s Apprenticeships, Internships and Mentorships (AIM) manager.
