Tahsin Akhtar (b. 1988) from Koderma, Jharkhand. Post-graduation degree from College Of Art, New Delhi in 2011. He works across media such as, projection mapping, video, painting, photography, kinetic sculpture, animation, and performance. His practice deals with close and critical observation of mundane life and the phenomena of multiple perception, identities and human-machine relationship in this digital era. He adds an assorted value to his collected mundane objects, faceless heads, and morphed figures and renders an absurdity which emphasize on the irrational, illogical and incongruous aspects of contemporary life. He is the recipient of several awards and fellowships like Framing Infections - Pandemic as Portal, 2021, 1Shanthiroad, Artreach India Teaching Fellowship 2019-20, State Gallery of Art Award, Hyderabad 2018, All India Art Exhibition Award 2013 (AIFACS) New Delhi, Euro Art Tour Award, and Camel Art Foundation 2012. His work has been displayed at various galleries, events and festivals, such as Traces of Transference: An Exposition of Unseen Bearings at Emami Art Kolkata 2022, “Desolate” at Museo Camera Gurugram, in association with Art Incept Feb 2021,"Call to disorder" at Serendipity Art Festival (Goa) Dec 2019, Artists Unite Delhi 2019, State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad 2018, "Art 35" Nine fish Art Gallery, Mumbai 2018 etc. He also participated in different national and international art camps, workshops and residency programs like Emami Art Residency Programme 2021 “Locus in Focus”, Two One Za Two, Two Two Za…. a workshop by Blue Jackal in 2019, The Storytellers, 2018 organised by FICA and SAF, “ART AMP” at Bhutan 2015 , United Art Fair 2012, New Delhi, "SEMBLANCE" Visual Art Gallery, IHB, New Delhi, 2012.
