Taranand Viyogi is a Maithili writer who is known for his works in different genres. Apart from two collections; Pralay Rahasya and Hastakshep. He also writes short stories and non-fictions, most famous among them is a book called Tumi Chir Sarthi, which is about his experiences with one of the most famous Hindi and Maithili writer Yatri Nagarjun. He has written criticism and for children as well. He won the Sahitya Akademi award for his book for children.
He is the recipient of the Raza Fellowship (2016) for his book on the biography of Nagarjun, Hindi and Maithili poet and writer entitled ‘Yugu ka Yatri’.
